About us

The "Scheier" means translated barn. The building was built more than 120 years ago and was part of a farm until the 1970s. After a long period of vacancy, we decided to renovate the building. An internationally renowned architect's office from Luxembourg was commissioned in 2020 to breathe new life into the "SCHEIER". For this purpose, the building was largely demolished due to the poor structure and then rebuilt as true to the original as possible. The result is a low-energy house with four apartments on a spacious plot of over 50 acres. What catches the eye of every guest is the original brickwork, which has been partially preserved and creates a unique atmosphere in the individual apartments. Each of the four apartments is equipped with high-quality furniture and electrical appliances with great attention to detail. The guest finds relaxation both in the apartment and on the balcony or terrace. If this is not enough, you can also relax on the spacious property, either on sun loungers or comfortable garden furniture.

Information

Guests who visited us asked us what the “Saint-Nicolas” logo on the bed linen and towels was all about.

We would like to tell the story of how the logo and the name Saint-Nicolas came about. When we were looking for suitable duvets, pillows, bed linen, towels and other utensils for our apartments, we accidentally came across an advertisement for the “Hotel Saint-Nicolas & Spa” and its closure with the sale of all hotel goods. The “Hotel Saint-Nicolas & Spa” was just a few kilometers away from us on the Esplanade in Remich (Luxembourg) directly on the Moselle. To our surprise, we initially couldn't believe that such a traditional hotel in Remich would close. We quickly called the owner, Mr. Houdremont, and made an appointment. At this appointment it turned out that we were able to purchase many of the goods on offer. This is how we got our duvets, pillows, bed linen, hand and bath towels, patio chairs, sun loungers and much more. This enabled us to realize our ambition to offer sustainable accommodation. We are happy that, through our purchase, a small part of the traditional hotel “Saint Nikolas” lives on in our apartment building “Scheier” on “Nikolausstrasse”.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. and Mrs. Hudremont very much for everything and wish them all the best for their future.
